Paces Sheffield was established in 1995 and was born in the experience of disability; specifically the experience of the parenting of children with physical disabilities and their related learning difficulties. Founded by parents who have seen at first hand the benefits of Conductive Education, the site now known as Paces Campus, was opened in 1997.
The Campus represents the ambitions of the founding parents, Trustees and other sponsors that originally set up the School for Conductive Education that was to establish a model of specialist educational provision within an inclusive family and community neighbourhood centre.
The School gained Non-maintained Special School status in 2009 after various successful Ofsted inspections and also offers services for adults for 51 weeks of the year. After many years of hard work and commitment, in November 2013 Paces School was awarded ‘Outstanding in every category’ by Ofsted. This judgement was upheld following another inspection in June 2018.
