We’re hugely excited to have been named by Sheffield United as one of the club’s six charity partners as part of their support of organisations across the city.
The Blades will be assisting us with fundraising activities and helping create awareness of the charity.
As part of the partnership, Sheffield United first team midfielder Chris Basham and ladies’ team midfielder Kim Brown will be ambassadors for Paces, assist with fundraising activities and helping create awareness of the charity.
Dave McCarthy, operations director at Sheffield United, said:
“It was a very difficult decision to make, there are so many good charities out there but we are delighted with our choices.
“At United, we pride ourselves on being a community-focused, family club, and we’re very excited about working with Paces in the coming weeks and months – we believe these new partnerships can make a real difference.”
Natalie Yarrow, funding co-ordinator for Paces, added:
“We are all thrilled that we have been chosen as one of Sheffield United’s nominated charities.
“It has fallen at an ideal time as it’s our 20th anniversary this year, so this news is the cherry on top of our celebration cake – in fact, our 20th anniversary celebration cake will now be in SUFC colours!
“We look forward to working with the Blades to raise awareness of the specialist support we offer to children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders, and to their families too.”
As part of the partnership, we have the opportunity to hold two bucket collections at the ground on:
- Saturday 14th October
- Saturday 25th November
Collectors are welcome to watch the game free of charge after they’ve finished collecting. If you’re interested in being part of our team, please watch this space for details on how to apply!
