Governors have agreed a series of Leadership and Staffing changes to ensure we can continue to develop Paces School, implement the recommendations in the recent Ofsted report and build for the future.
Dr Spencer Pitfield, Paces Chief Executive, said:
“I am very pleased to confirm that Ruth Liu will become the permanent Headteacher from 1 April 2019. Ruth has achieved a huge amount since taking over as Acting Headteacher and we are lucky to have someone of her vision and skills leading Paces School. Governors have also announced that Eva Sebeszta will take up the permanent role of Lead Conductor. I am sure you will join me in congratulating both Ruth and Eva on their well-deserved appointments.
“To support Ruth and Eva, we will also appoint a new Deputy Headteacher. This new senior leadership role will particularly focus on strengthening the school’s teaching and learning and core curriculum development. Like all teaching positions at Paces School, this new role will be focused towards enhancing our Conductive Education provision.”
Further, and in addition to the new Conductor Teacher and Conductor Assistant appointments in January 2019, Governors have agreed that the School will now advertise for another full-time Conductor Teacher & Conductor Assistant. There will also be adverts placed for a further two part-time lunchtime assistants. The details of these roles, ensuring our School is properly resourced across the board, can be seen here >>
New Headteacher, Ruth Liu, said:
“It is my absolute pleasure and privilege to be the new Headteacher of our very special school. Paces is unique in so many ways and this should be both recognised, valued and celebrated. I am extremely proud of our ethos and approach to working with children and families, and I recognise that this is something that must be continued and nurtured. The children at Paces thrive on the high expectations staff have of them and the constant encouragement and opportunity to develop independence.
“I look forward to welcoming more parents into school over the coming months and developing more effective relationships between home and school. As a team, we are working on ways in which we can better share the fantastic work that happens on a daily basis at Paces.
“I also look forward to supporting and developing the talented team of staff at Paces. Their knowledge, expertise and desire to want the best for the children in their care is invaluable. I am extremely grateful to each and every one of them for their support over the last 4 months and believe that they are by far the most important resource available to me.
“In addition to this I aim to continue to provide and develop a curriculum that enriches the learning opportunities for all the children. The children at Paces constantly amaze me with their approach to learning and truly deserve the best that we can offer. Following on from our Ofsted inspection I am excited to work more closely with the children with respects to their thoughts and feelings about school. I’m sure they will have some fantastic ideas and I can’t wait to hear them!
“Finally, I look forward to developing a clear vision for the school that firmly places Conductive Education at the centre of everything we do.”
Everyone at Paces is determined the School will continue to support individuals, develop together and achieve potential. These changes will ensure we can do that.
