Latest News IMCF Netball Tournament We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Irwin Mitchell for supporting us with their annual charity netball tournament at the EIS Sheffield on 2 July. Here's what they have released about the event: Irwin Mitchell’s 10th Annual Netball Tournament Raises Over £2,500 For Children’s Charity - Law Firm’s Charities Foundation Tournament Has Raised Over £17,500 Throughout The Past 10 Years Local charity Paces has received a welcome fundraising boost this month as the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation’s (IMCF) 10th Annual Charity Netball Tournament donated £2,547. Held at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, the tournament featured 13 teams, including IM Ladies, a team comprised of colleagues from Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office. In addition to raising money for IMCF, the tournament also further showcased Irwin Mitchell’s Don’t Quit, Do It campaign, which launched in 2015. The initiative has helped make disabled sports more accessible for people with a number of incredibly inclusive events up and down the country. Rachel Cox, a Serious Injury solicitor at Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield office, who set up the tournament and has organised it over the past 10 years, said: “I’d like to thank not only everyone who participated and helped out at this year’s event, but everyone who’s ever been involved with any of our other netball tournaments over the past decade. To raise such a large amount of money for so many great causes is absolutely amazing.” Karen Hague, Deputy CEO at Paces, said: “Irwin Mitchell’s fundraising efforts at their recent Annual Charity Netball Tournament were absolutely brilliant. I was delighted to attend this event and to see so many people give up their time and come together to raise so much money is fantastic. On behalf of everyone connected to Paces, I’d like to thank everyone at Irwin Mitchell for their amazing support.” The annual netball tournament is a well-recognised part of IMCF’s history, with many of Irwin Mitchell’s Sheffield employees looking forward to the annual event. Since the tournament’s inception 10 years’ ago, Irwin Mitchell has raised over £17,500 for IMCF, which has been passed on to the law firm’s charities of the year. This year’s charity, Paces, is a leading specialist centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders; past charities have included Cavendish Cancer Care; Sheffield Young Carers; St Luke’s Hospice; Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity; Weston Park Cancer Charity; Bluebell Wood; and Support Dog. IMCF has raised £1.5million for a number of charities since 1997, with £163,000 raised in 2016 alone. Irwin Mitchell is fully committed to making sport accessible for all, and was delighted earlier this year to announce itself as the Official Legal Services Provider of the World Para Athletic Championships London 2017, held 14 – 23 July.
