Colin Harris – Chair of Governors, Safeguarding Governor, and Health & Safety Lead
X
Colin joins us, having retired from over 30 years in Operations, Facilities and Project management working for Shell, Virgin Rail and Manchester Airport.
He is particularly keen on value for money and efficiency improvement through realistic contracts and team development.
To relax, Colin enjoys travelling and cooking.
Emma Dodd – Deputy Chair of Governors and Finance Lead
X
Emma’s background is in business management and finance, and she is eager to use her knowledge and skills to benefit the School.
She has a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s in Business Administration and is ACCA qualified, though not a practising accountant. She has over 20 years of business experience.
Emma’s daughter, Mia, has attended Paces since 2011 and has seen first-hand what Paces School for CE can offer to pupils and parents alike. She is keen to help the Governing Body in any way possible to make the School an even more outstanding place than it is already.
She is very passionate about this as it has been a wonderful support for herself, her husband and her daughter. Before Mia started in the Nursery, they viewed several different options across Sheffield and immediately knew that Paces was the only place for her.
Jayne Lowson – Staff Governor
X
Before joining Paces, Jayne volunteered for Home Start, a charity that supports families and children.
She joined Paces on January 2008 and has generally worked with Primary and Secondary students. Although, she has also had opportunities to get involved with students from the whole school.
During her employment, she has studied and successfully qualified as a level 3 Teaching Assistant. She hopes her role as a governor will provide her with new skills and establish ongoing support throughout Paces.
Eva Sebeszta – Staff Governor
X
Eva graduated from Peto Institute in 2007 as a Conductor-Teacher. She began her career working with adults before being asked to go to Germany, where she worked for one year at Fortschritt in a conductive nursery and led afternoon sessions for school-aged children.
After moving to England in 2009, she joined Paces, working with students in both primary and secondary classes. Eva became deputy safeguarding leader in 2017 and was elected as a staff governor in the Spring of 2018.
Maggi Whitehead – Co-Opted Governor
X
Maggi has a background in administration with the Department of Work & Pensions before her retirement. Maggi’s grandson Jack attends Paces on a split placement basis, and she enjoys spending time with both of her grandchildren.
During her past experience, Maggi took a complete career break and went to Iceland (the country, not the shop!) to work various jobs, including a fish factory, nursing home and hospital, whilst attending evening classes and attempting to learn the Icelandic language.
Having witnessed the caring and dedication of staff and parents at Paces, she is passionate about participating in its continued success.
