Paces came second in a recent public vote securing £10,000 through the Tesco Bags of Help initiative towards its exciting Inclusive Play Area project.

There is presently no area for outdoor play at Paces and the plan is to develop a play area that has been designed to enable children of all abilities to play together.

Together with other funding Paces has secured, Paces will now be able to start phase 1 of the project in spring 2017.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork (an environmental charity) to launch its Bags of Help initiative. The scheme saw three projects in each Tesco region awarded grants all raised from the 5p carrier bag charge.

The public voted in store to decide which local groups should receive a £12,000, £10,000 or £8,000 award. In total 2,421 community organisations from Tesco’s 400 regions up and down the UK have received a share of the Bags of Help fund.

Paces would like to thank everyone who supported us throughout the voting process, your votes have made all the difference.
