Trustee Voluntary

Paces Sheffield was founded in 1992 and registered as a charity in 1995. In 1996, Paces Sheffield opened its first temporary centre at Norton, and in 1997 opened Paces School for Conductive Education at High Green, a non-maintained DfE-approved school for children with physical and sensory disabilities between 3-18 years of age. In March 2021, Paces Sheffield Charity and Adult Services provision moved into Smithy Wood Business Park and in October 2022, Paces School moved into Thorncliffe Hall. These new facilities have allowed Paces Sheffield to expand and offer our unique services to more children and adults, who are able to take advantage of Paces way of working, enabling the children and vulnerable adults to reap great benefits from our integrated approach, which focuses on personal goals and aspirations.
Today, our primary goal is to teach children and adults with motor disorders of a neurological origin to function as independently and as self-assured as possible.
Paces Sheffield is a charitable organisation and is run by the Board of Trustees and Governors, who have charged the Senior Management Team with the running of the organisation on their behalf.
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our charity. You will work closely with our Senior Management team to develop and implement strategies that ensure our services are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission. We are particularly keen to recruit trustees in South Yorkshire who have experience or skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Education Management
- Adult Social Care
- Fundraising Management and Strategy
- Disability and Health experience
Board meetings are held approximately every two months at Smithy Wood Business Park, Chapeltown, Sheffield, S35 1QN. There are also sub committees which focus on various areas of the charity.
