Intensive internal muscle strengthening activity require a large commitment from parents

The Brainwave Centre
Assesses children with disabilities and works out a program of exercises to be carried out at home by the parents.

Bobath Physical therapy
Uses physiotherapy based on Bobath teaching and will assess a child and provide block treatments as well as individual treatments

Spider therapy using an Adeli Suit to improve balance and coordination amongst other things.

Hydrotherapy
Water therapy provided by the hospital Physiotherapy department
Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy
Aimed at increasing the blood flow to the brain. Less often used as may cause seizures

Occupational Therapy
Therapists will assess a child’s physical needs and suggest equipment to help with function
NHS provided
Orthotics
Provides supportive splints and shoes to correct or prevent foot deformities and support walking
Normally provided by the NHS but can be privately funded
Portage
Portage is a home visiting educational service for pre-school children with additional support needs and their families.
Parents should not be charged for Portage home visiting which is usually delivered as part of a local authority service offer.
NHS Physiotherapy
Physical therapy carried out by therapists but also, they will give exercise programs
NHS provided or privately funded
Riding for the Disabled
Our horses and ponies provide therapy and fun to people all over the UK. With your help we can do even more.
Paid for by the charity itself, although a small fee is usually made.
Speech and Language Therapy
Provides speech and language therapy and assesses swallowing

Snowdrop
A private therapy which uses neuroplasticity to improve the physical wellbeing of disabled children
